Graduating from the University of Birmingham in 1999 with a BA degree, and in 2000 with an MPhil research degree, I have since worked in the PR and Marketing Departments of a range of charity and public sector organisations.
I was employed by the Federation of British Artists, the Mall Galleries, and King’s College London, and was lucky enough to be in the public relations team that worked on the 175th anniversary celebrations of King’s College London.
I was also involved in the media work linked to the Annual Exhibition of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, amongst others, and assisted with the promotions around a special exhibition of portraits of H.M. The Queen.
I have since relocated to Leeds where I married and had two children. I now well and truly call West Yorkshire my home! Before making the transition to freelance work, I worked at Park Lane College and at Leeds City College. The team and I led on the award-winning public-relations campaign and rebranding of Leeds City College, to establish it as the third largest further education institution in the UK.
Over the last 18 years I have had responsibility for corporate communications, working alongside Human Resources, Senior Management, and Support Services teams. I have promoted the work of individual faculties, business projects, and enterprise start-up companies, most recently leading a communications and digital marketing team in the education sector.
